Energy Justice: Past Work

Intervention in Utility Rate Cases

350 Wisconsin, represented by Midwest Environmental Advocates, intervened in two utility rate cases in 2023. Wisconsin Power & Light (WPL; more commonly known as Alliant Energy) and Madison Gas & Electric (MGE) proposed increases in their electricity and natural gas rate, in addition to significant changes to the rules governing sales of energy back to the grid by rooftop solar users (a process known as net metering). Thanks to the dedication of the intervening organizations and members of the public who testified and submitted comments, the utilities were not granted the full rate increases they asked for, and net metering was preserved.

Energy Efficiency

350 Wisconsin solicited comments from our members on the Inflation Reduction Act HOMES and HEAR programs, advocating to maximize benefits for low-income Wisconsin residents and prioritize upgrades that will advance clean energy goals.
